After the 12 rounds of close and match fight, then few minutes waiting for the result, Peterson grab the belt from Khan.
Even with a knock-down at first and opening round, Khan lossed due to his 2 times deduction by his constant pushing Peterson. The crowd reacted after the referee made the second deduction to Khan during the last round. The judges scored 113-112, 111-114 and 113-112. A unanimous decision declared to Peterson.
A rematch was been talked after few interviews to both fighter.
