Metro Manila hit with Heavy Flood

Streets in Metro Manila were having said a waist-deep floods after a night of rains that closed down schools and government offices.


Areas near rivers and canals where floodwaters are rising were ready with evacuations as been called-up by authorities.  As Marikina River was placed on Alert level 2 since water reached 16.1 meters above sea level as of 1PM, according to Inquirer News.  Resulted to moving of 113 families to different evacuation centers.


In Quezon City, residents on flood-prone and low-lying areas were been recommended to evacuate as the city has been lifted at alert level 1.


No casualties have been reported currently, although massive traffic jams caused slow movement in most part of the capital.
