Passport Processing Philippines

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) had declared publicly that Passport Processing had been normalized or back to its normal operation concerning the electronic passport (e-Passport).

To address some concerns contributing to the stockfiled passports, the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) has started implementing steps, including extention of validity of passports that are about to expire (six months or less) or have expired for one year, extending of passport appointment (from 7 am until 8 pm, with Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm), and increasing the slots of passport appointments to 5,000 everyday.

With the objective of providing world-class services to all Filipinos, DFA still extending to reduce turnaround time for all applications being filed in Regional Consular Offices and Philippine embassies.

Secretary Albert del Rosario of Foreign Affairs had emphasized that the e-passport system had been a top priority.

PILIPINAS GOT TALENT SEASON 2 WINNERS

Marcelito Pomoy was declared the grand winner of ABS-CBN's show, Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2, the country's biggest nationwide talent reality show.

Marcelito, a male singing diva, having a dual gifted voice, brought home a banging cold prize of 2 Miliion Pesos.  This 27-year-old singer was dubbed as the "Man with the golden femail voice", who impressed the entire audience with his song, "The Prayer".

 Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 was been held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon city last June 26, Sunday.  With the audience in waiting & thousands of viewers, the grand winner was been voiced out.  The second place was given to the Happy Feet (Ramonito and Lolito Mata), the tap dancing duo.  FreeStylers, dance group from Calamba, own the third place.  These top three (3) got 19.56%, 18.32% and 9.46% text votes, respectively.

Recalling the previous season of Pilipinas Got Talent, it was the singer Jovit Baldivino who was proclaimed the grand winner held last year.

New Airbus Planes for Cebu Pacific

Cebu Pacific budget airline will be pouring out $3.8 billion to expand its operation.  This will be to acquire 37 new Airbus planes in addition to their 33 aircrafts.  According to the souce, seven of these Airbus will be A320 and the rest will be A321neo aircrafts.

In addition to their existing order of 18 Airbus A320 aircrafts, the latest order was said to be delivered within 2015 and 2021, which would likely doubling its current number of aircrafts.  Which would also lead the company to introduce additional jobs for the Filipinos.

"The aircraft will reduce our unit cost per seat to a level that cannot be achieved flying A320s," according to Cebu Pacific president and CEO Lance Gokongwei.
