The
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) had declared publicly that Passport Processing had been normalized or back to its normal operation concerning the electronic passport (e-Passport).

To address some concerns contributing to the stockfiled passports, the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) has started implementing steps, including extention of validity of passports that are about to expire (six months or less) or have expired for one year, extending of passport appointment (from 7 am until 8 pm, with Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm), and increasing the slots of passport appointments to 5,000 everyday.
With the objective of providing world-class services to all Filipinos, DFA still extending to reduce turnaround time for all applications being filed in Regional Consular Offices and Philippine embassies.
Secretary Albert del Rosario of Foreign Affairs had emphasized that the e-passport system had been a top priority.
